About Me

Horseshoes are known to bring luck. According to this saying, the marriages of the new civil registry office in St. Michaelisdonn / Dithmarschen (Schleswig-Holstein) are under a good star. In March 2018, the original wedding room at the horse and guest house Rehedyk , Helser Geestweg 11, 25693 St. Michaelisdonn, was inaugurated by Mayor Volker Nielsen, registrar Melanie Jürgens and owner Tanja Böttger.

"Rehedyk is often chosen by newlyweds as a wedding location. So we came up with the idea to set up another registry office for St. Michaelisdonn here. Our idyllic horse farm offers a magical atmosphere and the wedding party also has the opportunity to use our guest rooms and holiday apartments for overnight stays. The mayor liked our idea the same way, " recalls Tanja Böttger, owner of Rehedyk, Tanja and Marco Böttger took over the agricultural farm in 2012 and converted it into a guest and horse farm. From the former stable in the heart of the complex, the rustic stylish guest house has been created, in which now the wedding ceremonies take place. Pastures, horse paddocks and stable buildings surround registry office and wedding location. Gladly the riders among the wedding guests in the yard stand with their horses trellis for the bride and groom, knows to tell Böttger.

St. Michaelisdonn's mayor, Volker Nielsen, explains:"We are pleased that St. Michaelisdonn has this extraordinary registry office. It is our goal to strengthen the attractiveness of the region and to offer residents and tourists a variety of life and vacation qualities. Dithmarschen benefits as horse country from ideas and projects, as they are implemented on Rehedyk. Especially for riders it is a unique experience to ride at the wedding, for example on horseback to the registry office. "
